I have owned many different emulator handhelds over the last year and have settled on just having the RG35XX and a Steam Deck. My RG35XX is running on the Garlic OS custom firmware and it is so much better of an experience then stock.

I've been thinking about getting an Anbernic handheld for quite some time. I remember one looking like it was made of wood even though it isn't which I guess was the previous model. Hopefully one day I'll get me one of those, but my dream would be to get an Analogue Pocket with the addons like the Game Gear module and the TurboGrafx module even thought the latter I have to buy the bundle which is unfortunate since I have no nostalgia for the Atari Lynx or the Neo Geo Pocket Color since I never played anything on those.

I got the RG35xx last week and installed Garlic OS which makes it much better.

However, I wish that it was taller. With my big hands, it feels somewhat awkward to hold. I have concluded that handhelds, especially vertical ones, are hard to control accurately. I think that a horizontal portable game system would work much better.

Looks nice but you never went into the extra sd slot or weather you could add your own games onto it. I have an extensive mame collection and the last device i bought although it came with some preloaded mames they where in a format i was unable to duplicate.

Nope!
This system is NOT “ready to go” and it is NOT “effortless”.
I ordered and received 2 of them last week.
The audio is very out of sync on all 8bit, 16bit, and PS1 games!
I contacted Anbernic and they wrote me back (in pretty broken English) that I need to “reformat the SD card to FAT32” or something?
I have NO idea what that means, and why should I have to do such a thing?
Anyway, been enjoying this channel quite a bit the last few weeks, so any help would be great!
