It's not a fair comparaison. You've given the Sim 1 a food processor. By hand like the 2 3 and 4, it would have taken much longer.

Also, you need to compare with the same recipe. All dishes are not taking the same time.

You should also compare not real time, but ingame clock. The real time / ingame time ratio, and the speed of the game aren't equivalent from one version to another.

In The Sims 3, how long a Sim takes to cook anything depends on their cooking level. Moreover, each recipe has its own XML file that you can tune if you think something takes absurdly long.

This is why the relativity mod is a necessity for Sims 3. That game clock moves way too fast. I set my relativity to 9. 😂

I hate how long it takes to do things sometimes. For example walking through a fairly big house can take 15-20 minutes to get from one side to another.

I actually think it's good that it takes longer to cook them since it makes the quick meals actually useful.

Save the proper cooking for when you have time for it, you know? The Sims 3 sim could have eaten cereal and it would require no cooking time. It's not super realistic to cook a large serving of pancakes from scratch and still have time to catch the carpool 😂
