seeing real actors do the same things we make our sims do really puts into context how weird the sims can be and I love this

To celebrate, we need a "create the same house in the 4 games" !! Would be so funky chaotic !!

The thing that I love most, is that this re-release will finally revive the older community of The Sims and The Sims 2 mods. It's so hard to find mods nowadays as multiple hosting websites have been closed. Can't wait 💓

I assume that they've added the free sims 4 kits because, like you said, they're trying to appeal to the people who used to play the sims 20 years ago and aren't really playing the new sims game at all. They probably added the kits in hopes that those people will download the sims 4 and end up buying packs for it.

I was 9 when the first game released, and it was one of my first true video games. Sims 1 is so sentimental to me, and I feel like I might cry when I first launch it again after so long. My grandpa bought the game for me because a lady told him it was a virtual dollhouse game. I was obsessed with Barbies and getting to the age where I was getting picked on for still playing with them. He got me the Sims in hopes that I could still play with dolls and hold onto my imagination and stories in a more “grown up” way so kids would stop being mean to me. He didn’t know it then, but he began something that has been a safe haven for me throughout my life.

My grandpa passed away in 2002, and I am 33 now, but I think of his love for me every time I play the Sims.

Never played either before..

I lasted 3 days on sims 1, accidentally flirted with bella, got slapped by mortimer, my only friends were 2 stray cats and then I burned to death in a fire…

My first time playing went well 😅

Something cool i noticed: In the original Sims 2, marriages between man/man and woman/woman were called civil unions, not marriage. They changed it accordingly for this re-release :)

I have been playing The Sims for the entirety of the 25 years. It was my very first computer game and I still have the discs from it. It'll be SO nice to hop back to play 1 and 2 on a functioning computer! For a LONG time, I kept my old computer around to play them, but obviously that isn't feasible now. My dad had ALL of the Sims games before the sims. Like Sim Ant, Sim City ETC. He would be stoked about this rerelease! Thank you for being excited too and cannot wait to see what you build/do in them!

i never had the sims 2 *myself* but my friend mollie had it on her dad’s huge desktop computer and i would go over to her house ALL THE TIME just to play it. in hindsight i think that’s the only thing we had in common, lol. we’d build huge square houses with massive pools and spend hours in create a sim, and then never actually play the game because it would be time for me to go home 😭😭 i think my sims obsession as an adult is mostly from how badly i wanted my own sims game to play for as long as i wanted as a child. i’m so excited to buy the bundle!!!!

JUST SOME ADVICE TO THOSE PLANNING ON BUYING THESE PACKS!!

- Numerous people (including myself) have been reporting that The Sims 1 doesn't work. When you download the game into your EA App/Steam account and try to launch the game for the first time, it will just crash instantly upon startup and take you back to your game library. Regardless of what you try to do to fix it (Run in compatibility mode, run program as administrator etc) nothing seems to work & EA didn't even know this was an issue and have no idea how to fix it (From what I was told when speaking with an EA Customer Support Rep)

- The Sims 2 should load just fine, but if your graphics card is NOT shown in your Video Cards.sgr file, you will experience crashes when running the game, so if you know how to edit your files to be able to match your graphics card to your Sims 2 game, I'd highly recommend doing so. All the previous "fixes" we had to do before to get the game to run, I'd recommend doing them anyway because without them, the game is prone to crashing (some are even having issues getting both The Sims 1 & 2 to launch) So if I were you guys, I'd hold off on purchasing these packs just until the issues are resolved. Happy Simming!

Death standing on the diving board is *chefs kiss* (sims used to not be able to get out of the pool without a ladder. So if you have a diving board and no ladder….)

I think the inclusion of the Throwback Fit Kit and Grunge Revival Kit is supposed to be a thematic tie-in to the nostalgia of the specific time periods that the respective games came out in.

I sometimes listen to the Sims 1 build/buy mode music on YouTube just because I find it soothing and nostalgic. I never thought I would hear it again in gameplay! The music alone is making me so happy.

Kayla, please, yes, we would love to watch you play TS1 and TS2!

I bought the bundle as soon as it came out. I started playing The Sims when I was about 7 years old, in 2001. So... Long ago! Having the opportunity to play those games again is very nostalgic and it makes me really happy. Especially because I'm not that great when it comes to technology, so, truly, despite having always played this game for most of my life, I haven't played those versions in so long. That being said, wow, needs management was tough in the og Sims. How did I manage to keep up as a kid? 😂

Sims 1 was hard. Work every day. There were no days of the week. No vacation or time off. No aging besides babies to child. Friendships were required for promotions and friendships faded fast. You could not leave the lot except via rabbit hole until hot date.

The way I raced to simsie’s channel after this was announced. The sims 1 was my first sims game. Happy 25 years to the sims!

TS2 Re-release: now supports modern hardware, fixes a shadow bug, wide screen support, UI scales to high resolutions, texture memory corruption has been fixed, now properly uses RAM, fixes several crashes, and more improvements.

Does not include IKEA stuff because of licensing!

Kind of unrelated, but I love that you highlight the parts you're currently reading - for those with some audible issues (like comprehensions for me) it really helps me follow along and remember what you're saying. Thanks for that!

My mom used to love play the sims 2 when I got It, she was around 45 and the only things she knew How to do on the pc was playing. But the 3 and 4 are too difficult for her. She keeps saying that she misses playing the sims. Now I get a chance to get the sims 2 for her again, I am so happy!!
