Best of Caspian

Post Rock behemoth, Caspian, entered the post rock scene in 2003 where the genre was still in its developmental stage and it took no time for them to make a name for themselves. Their unique compositions, crushing melodies, organic and unforced flow to their songs are few of the attributes that make them a truly marvellous sonic experience. Known for their explosive live presence on stage, Caspian have been featured twice on Audiotree sessions and KEXP and have had numerous tours all around the world, mesmerising audiences with their presence.

In 2013, their bassist Chris Friedrich passed away which was a huge shock for me. May his soul rest in peace and this mixtape is dedicated to him and his family.

I sure hope that you guys enjoy the mix and leave us a comment.

I have a 7yo student that really loves Caspian. She says that it helps to calm down and relax.

Absolutely love Caspian. 'Hymn For the Greatest Generation' is one of the most beautiful songs I ever heard. Still makes me emotional.

These guys are my favorite post rock band of all time, it was in fact discovering them that got me into the genre. I’ve seen them live 5 times and the guys are super cool and always hang out and talk after their set. Highly recommended live show if you get an opportunity. Excellent choice and arrangement of songs here. Thanks as usual!

I love Caspian so much. I am pretty sure that I once saw them in concert before the pandemic. I love the no lyrics and I love the chills I get listening to every second!

saw caspian in san francisco supporting katatonia, 4/1/2017. i was blown away. i had the best seat in the house, sitting against the rail, dab smack in the middle. i arrived early, first in line, with a dinner ticket. around their 5th song, it ended with a voice saying, "all weather is processed".
it was just building and building, until it climaxed. i stood up and yelled, "yeah, fuck yeah", i was blown away. what the hell did i just listen to. i was fortunate to sneak in my zoom audio recorder, got the whole set recorded, came out excellent, in stereo even, which is the reason i got there early. looking forward to seeing caspian again. katatonia were excellent as well, my second time seeing them. first time was at the roxy in hollywood supporting opeth.

Hymn For The Greatest Generation at 1:33:37 is so terribly beautiful. I love the strings coming in at the end, really peaceful yet sad as well.

I can't stop listening to this album. I've listened to other bands in this genre for the last decade, but never Caspian. I think I only discovered them, through this video, this year. Thanks so much.

Thanks so much for rediscovering this absolutely amazing band, a great unknown for me. I know that Caspian is one of the essential post-rock bands, but till now I've never listened 'em as they deserve. I'm caught by their powerful music since the first second of this video. Thanks a lot again for this gift and for your work, Wherepostrockdwells! (I'm sorry for my poor english.)

I thought this was going to be Far Caspian. I'm not disappointed. But still in a state of awe and confusion.
