You're right, almost everyone in college is following trends, keyword almost. I think you could create your own style by doing the following: Wear what makes you look good and what you LOVE like he says in the vid. Then take what you wear and slightly compliment it with certain pieces of current trends that you also like and also look good on you. This way you can create your own "thing" that defines you while not looking too far out in left field.

Man! Been there done that, chooce a more sharp brand like selected(Danish) or dressman(Norwegian). btw dressman has some of the best shirts I have ever seen, truly a hidden gem. A white shirt with gray cardigan and a black leather jacket, leather shoes and gray or khaki chinos is as sharp as you can go while still being casual without a blazer. Blazer is usually the point where people think you are dressing formal.

Thank you! I've been saying for years that everyone here in the pnw looks exactly alike. In my town way in the corner of Wa the used clothes dreads tattoo and so on is like a uniform and I'd you don't wear they look down at you.

what I dislike more is when people only dress up for others to see, and not for themselves, so once they arrive at home, the first thing they do is quickly change into comfy old tshirt, shorts, and slippers. It is better to dress with something that is part of our self image, rather than putting on a temporary costumes just to impress others. I personally don't have tattoo, but in that sense I respect people with it because they have commitment to wear it eternally as part of their identity
