No hot water fault on a Worcester Bosch combi boiler water running cold breakdown diagnosis

Should this plate be checked during a service? I've had the diverter and sensor changed but still have an intermittent problem with the hot water. Some times it comes through so hot I have to add cold water, or it can be hot and then go through being lukewarm and then cold for ages before getting hot again. It's not so bad running a bath but it's such a nuisance at the kitchen sink or the shower. It's a good job I'm not on a water meter because so much water is wasted waiting for it to heat up. When I call out an engineer I'm told it's normal but it's only been like this for about 18 months when the diverter and sensor were changed because I had a small leak.

Just curious as to how many times as a percentage (roughly) you've found the problem to be the sensor after a diagnosis where the plate is (red hot) but dhw at outlets cold???

I know that electrically we can test the sensor to check but tbh I've always gone dhw plate on this diagnosis...

Got me thinking though..
