If it's not coal or gas 'it has to be' nuclear: Rita Panahi

Sky News host Rita Panahi says nuclear power is the only option at this point to achieve lower emissions without “absolutely decimating our living standards" and "seeing costs skyrocket even further”.

“Yes, 20 years down the track there may be a new technology we’re not yet aware of that could provide that baseload power,” Ms Panahi said.

“But as it stands, if it’s not coal or gas, it has to be nuclear.”

I remember when the lights started going out in South Africa 2007 and 2008. They still haven't recovered there and have regular black - outs. It's now lifestyle there. I also noticed that they are trying to sell electric cars at the same time. Should we learn from South Africa: " how to live with regular power - cuts and own an electric car?

Something to make your eyes water; 'in the past 7 years some the worlds biggest natural resource companies have earned approx. $138billion in revenue in Australia without paying any corporate income tax. It should just be gas, half the emissions of coal and we have plenty of it in Australia. Once renewables are economically viable we will transition to it as a matter of staying technologically relevant. Nuclear power is an excellent technology but it requires a lot of water which we don’t have in Australia.

There's no country better placed to safely use nuclear energy to generate electricity.

The Earth is cooler w the atmos/GHGs/albedo not warmer.
To perform as advertised the GHGs require "extra" energy upwelling from the surface radiating as a black body.
The kinetic heat transfer processes of the contiguous atmos molecules render that scenario impossible.
No greenhouse effect, no GHG heating, no man/CO2 driven climate change or Gorebal warming.
