Never use biometrics for security. They are publicly available and difficult (or impossible) to change, making them more like usernames than passwords. Back in 2013 there was a workshop at CCC where they 3d-printed politician's fingerprints using photos from up to 30 feet away taken with a telephoto lens. Lastly, and possibly most important: They are NOT protected by the fifth amendment like a password is (divulging a password is also compelled speech).
