North Texas Shockwave Paintball spent the weekend competing at AXBL Dallas hosted by Cousins Paintball Park. The team consists of young guns and divisional players, this is their story.

The problem with paintball is the huge price tag to get into the sport and stay in it. That is the main reason why the sport is not growing as fast as many people want it too, not because the sport is to difficult to learn or that veteran players are cocky or unaccommodating. Just plain and simple, if Paintball companies really want the sport to grow they need to stop thinking about immediate short term earnings and think about long term repeat customers.

6 years ago, I went paintballing for the first time with my friends. None of us had every played. The night before I went I watched this video and it motivated me. Ever since that day, I’ve been playing. I now own all my own equipment.(Etha2, hk army KLR, rotor, ninja SL2, etc) I’ve been playing this sport for 6 years now and I’m so happy that I was able to find passion in the sport!

great great great. young guns when i was like 13 to 16 were the best paintball years of my life im 32 now. that was also the purest form of playing paintball too

I’m 16 and i just started playing earlier this year. Uncle and dad used to play a while back and I was always interested. My uncle handed me down his dye proto pmr 07-08 and I can just say every time I step into the field I forget everything around me and only focus about the lane I’m shooting, the bunker I’m going to, and the call outs I gotta give. I’m in love with the sport, every time I leave the field I just wanna go back and play one more game. The adrenaline rush along with the sport is a drug and with it comes heavy costs so if you’re a kid looking to get into the sport please help around the house, focus on school, and treat your parents with all the love they deserve. I already started working so I pay for my own paint now but I was lucky enough to have parents that understood the work I put into school and the time I take to focus on my future so they were able to help e pay off those first mesmerizing 2 days at the field and the repairs I needed to make. The sport comes with love so you gotta give to get.

I really don't have a problem with parents buying their kid "expensive" items if they want it go and get it it's what you want but you know when to stop and their spoiling them their helping their kids enjoy a sport
