How To Lower The Sodium Content Of Canned Beans

Lower the salt in canned beans so you can use them for convenience and still follow a low sodium diet!

1. Buy low sodium canned beans (140 mg sodium or less per serving)
2. Drain and rinse the beans (removes ~ 50% of the sodium)
3. Cook/use as desired and add low/no sodium seasoning for flavor
**check ingredient list and make sure there isn't potassium chloride added**
