Not saying it is global warming, but the surface temperature has been rising 2ºF over the past 15 years.
May not seem like much, but for large bodies of water like the high seas, it can easily cook fish who lived in sub-surface temps all their lives.
Evaporation goes more quickly & even icebergs can drop into the seas, rising the sea level.

The symptom of this is massive storms because the planet is attempting to stabilize the atmospheric equation.

Essentially, if the body rises or drops in temperature, it responds and adjust, and it cause mild symptoms. The earth is doing the same.

For those of you who have never driven in snow, or if you have driven in occasional snow, please understand that even in light snow, a sudden stream of strong wind can cause a pile up even when people are driving carefully. When white-out conditions occur, it's nearly impossible to see more than about 18" past the headlights, even brake lights on the vehicle ahead can't be seen. And if this hits on a nearly flat minor curve, people get disoriented, hit the edge of the road, or drift into another lane, or slam on the brakes causing the vehicle behind them to rearend your or another car, it takes just one vehicle to start a pile up.
Another thing that happens is if an empty semi truck trailer gets blown sideways or over, especially if it blocks both lanes, it is unexpected whether or not the roads are bad.
Even the best, most experienced drivers can get caught up in situations like these. In fact when there is light weight snow and it's drifting, a strong gust of wind can blow snow from across an open field or ditch causing the same situation.
I grew up in South Dakota and lived 12 years in Minnesota. I know driving slowly and keeping pace with the traffic flow prevent accidents, but there are situations where nothing you do can manage every weather condition.

The temperature has been in the 80s in Houston. I've had my air conditioning on all through Christmas week.

We aren't equipped to handle icy roads here out West, too many steep hills and snow plows/ salt trucks can only take care of the main roads. If you live up a steep hill, you're essentially stuck until the weather warms up.
