Time to change the rules so it is easier to cheat.

All we need to do is abolish the parts about freedom of speech, the right to bear arms, get rid of the "unwarranted searches and seizures" rubbish. Instead, add equality of outcome, price controls, and UBI. Then we're good to go, full marxist, correct?

This individual reading his bureaucratic pre-totalitarian script of his screen gives me creeps...

This is NOT a democracy this is a constitutional republic.

The changes proposed would benefit Democrats. Most secession talk is in red states. Seems like these changes would make secession MORE likely, not less.

This guy talking just rings "this is a person you want as far away from government and power"

Yeah who's going to ride it to be fair we've had the same one for this long and it served us just fine

Removing the base of the entirety of our legal system would be pure anarchy. A revision could be done, but it'd take a decade at least for major newly created loopholes to be plugged and be a legal and financial nightmare in implementing it aftwards.

The Constitution needs to be reread not rewritten.

Um, can't we just pass amendments? The Constitution of the United States IS our Country. It was made to grow with us; via Amendments.

As an attorney, I respect Chemerinsky quite a bit. He knows his idea is very provocative, but it opens a good and worthwhile discussion. Rewriting the Constitution seems like overkill to me. The law of unintended consequences needs to be considered. But what might make sense is an amendment, or series of amendments, addressing many of the issues that Chemerinsky brings up -- and also the issue of money in politics, which is absolutely killing the United States.

The constitution, though severely out dated, was written by men who respected and agreed with one another. Politicians today ARE COMPLETELY INCAPABLE of constitutional change.

So basically everything that denies the Democratic Party more power is “outdated.” 😂😂😂 what a clown show

Early life... every time...

But Senators do not represent the people, that is what the Representatives do. Senators represent the State, and as such, regardless of population, all the states have equal representation with two senators. Representatives are reflective of the populations of the state... also, the Constitution limits the powers of government, not the people. The people are the sovereign and source of power for the government by their consent to be governed. As such, that can be revoked at any time and it is the peoples' unalienable right to have a government that represents them and if a government no longer does that, they can institute a new government...

This "professor" knows all of this but he is a subverting traitor trying to undermine and destroy the foundation of this Christian country.

50 Democratic Senators representing 40 million people? Are you sure, man? That's the population of California alone.

No. It’s time to start following the old one.

It would trigger a civil war that made the first one look like child's play.

With so many fascists around this would not be such a good time to revise or replace the constitution.
