Blood transfusion: Setup and Transfusion (Primary Y Type Tubing)

The transfusion of blood products is a common occurance in hospitals. But just because it's common, doesn't mean its a simple process. There are many steps that have to be taken to ensure the safety of a patient recieving blood products. This video will demonstrate and explain the steps to adminsiter a blood product from start to finish. This video demonstrates the use of a primary Y Type blood tubing. I have another set of videos that demonstrate the use of a secondary Y type set.

when the tubing has blood left in the end, when we open the saline roller clamp and close the blood roller clamp do we have to reprogram the pump to specify its saline going in or can we just cont the infusion with the program set on blood and the saline will infuse?
