I remember going through bulk bins in prophecy days and Rhystic Study was unplayable. There was many.

Fun fact, I bought a single prophecy booster pack for my chaos draft box, and that's where I found my first and only rhystic study!

I still remember playing 3 Rhystic Study in a Pauper Temur deck, with Land Destruction and Cascade.
I even managed to get the 3 in a game against UR Faeries. And holy cannoli was it satisfying.

I had a pretty good guess on this one, knowing it used to be common I think is how I sorta knew. Upshifting rarity is the most blatant part of the secondary market control they abuse to price up certain products.

First guess was force of will, but then realized that was printed at uncommon in alliances, not common. Next guess would have been Rhystic study.

I didn’t really notice Rhystic Study until a friend pointed it out to me years ago, which was funny because for a while I only ended up buying cards if I had a store near me and I went heavy into Prophecy because it was all they had. I still only opened two of them.

I don't remember who it was, but they were building a all common commander deck and his argument for having a tabernacle in it was, well technically it was originally printed at common

Around '05/'06 or so I was looking through old sets I'd missed out on for cards to put in my decks and came across Rhystic Study and it seemed like a no-brainer. I got about 8 copies for two blue decks I had for about $.25 each. It's too bad back then I didn't appreciate foils like I do today. Shortly after putting them in my decks my friends started showing up with them in their decks too.

Rustic stady is so great, i was paying around 15 bucks for it.. my opponents hates that card

I have two of those from my early days of collecting, so I know their approximate value, but I was surprised that they're #1. I was leaning more towards something like the runner-up.

Rhystic Study is also only one of two banned cards in pauper commander. The other, Mystic Remora.

I had a feeling it was rhystic study. Rudy opened a box where this card came from and pulled like 3-4 of them. The set though is ungodly expensive.

I remember getting rhystic for like 40 cents in 2014. Idk how it was so cheap but the price spike was unsurprising
