Your explanations are so easy to understand. Thank you. I am going to have a laminectomy surgery on June 13 th. I look forward to getting it done. My greatest concern is the recovery process. Your presentations have given me confidence in understanding my surgery. My orthopaedic surgery is young like you. He has been practising for eleven years now. I trust his professional knowledge and practice to see me through this. You young surgeons are so open to the latest methods of doing surgery. Thank you for your contemporary approach.

Hey Doc. I have a bit of situation. Very long story short, 30 spinal surgeries, first five due to wear and tear sports, etc., last 25 was from a severe spinal cord injury, followed by multiple trauma to my spine, including my titanium rods and screws, snapping three different times, I have a 65° kyphosis in my thoracic as well. I know it sounds crazy, but I want to be able to stand up and be able to walk without feeling like I’m falling forward. As we speak, I’m dealing with a severe staff infection in my lumbar, which has collapsed the fusion and waiting to hear when new post and screws are going in. Cleveland clinic, Tallahassee General, Shands Hospital all set. I have had too many traumas to my spine to help. I can’t take it any longer. I just wanna be able to stand up a little straighterand a little less pain

I am 15 months post op from a L4-L5 fusion ( I had a microdiscectomy in 2018, Fusion of L4-L5 in Jan 2022 and a revision in Jan 2023 due to the cage migrating) - I now suffer from lower back pain and I expected this but I also have numb toes in my right foot, right calve and constant cramping that goes down both my right and left leg. I am worried this isn't normal and I am quite frustrated. Is the severe cramping in both of my legs normal or a complication? I know losing some feeling can happen and I suppose expected after a few surgeries in the same area - just trying to sort out what is considered "normal" or what should be of any concern.

Why do Drs make you wait till you are peeing/pooping on yourself before they do surgery? Isn't that too late? I have a 10mm L4 L5 spondylolisthesis, multilevel facet hypertrophy, ligamentum flavum hypertrophy, multiple disc bulges/herniations and I've had saddle anesthesia since 10/23 along with bowel leakage. I have leg weakness, pain, tingling, numbness and tightness from the waist down. The drs here in NW Fl keep telling me that there is nothing wrong. I have done my research and I know what I'm looking at on my MRI images. I have severe stenosis(2mm) at L2 L3 but they are only looking at the spondy. How bad does the stenosis have to be before a dr will operate? I've been told I can't have surgery until I'm nicotine free. I get that but, can they just allow me to get cauda equina syndrome or become paralyzed all because I'm struggling with quitting? Also I'm supposed to get an L4 L5 injection soon. I'm scared to get it now with the L2 L3 severe stenosis.
