A small correction tho, it's not the first time he went on a mission that didn't have goblins, the first time mentioned in the novel was a mission with the Heavy Warrior and the Lancer to conquer an unknown tower with gargoyles and a mage at the top and surprisingly that time he wasn't tricked but he went only because there weren't any goblin slaying missions, it was a fun read honestly, those three have a weird but really good sinergy xD

The sea goblin was the fish people. Villager hire them to kill sea goblin. The fish people redirected the quest to slay the sea serpent. Sea goblin slaying quest was aborted. The villager did not reward them for slaying the sea serpent, which make me understand why adventurer does not take on quest sometime. Fortunately the fish people reward them which was better.

It’d be funny if a novice adventurer asks GS to accompany him to deal with a group of bandits terrorising a village, which he naturally declined.

The adventurer then remarked “Okay, if you wanted to be rusty against some goblins with the same old tricks, then you do you, pal.” He then made his way to the doors, which GS heaved a resigned sigh and replied “When you put it that way…” before accepting the invitation.
