How beyond tired is Bench being asked this question
Thirty-five years of the same question

You handled that well. Nice follow-up question to shift gears to try to let Johnny settle down. Lol.

Johnny told it like it is. As much as I enjoyed watching Pete play when I was growing up, he fucked around and had to find out the hard way that the rules apply to him just like everyone else and what's even more disgusting and disgraceful is that he lied like a rug about it until finally coming clean and admitting to it in his book that he released several years later. It's a tragedy that he's not in the Hall of Fame but at the same time it's hard to feel sorry for him because he did it to himself and he's only sorry because he got busted and it cost him big time.

Johnny had been asked this question multiple times. Stupid question. Interviewer knew better, asked his stupid question anyway. Got the reaction he wanted and then got all butthurt when Bench reacted the way he did.

Greates catcher of all time. My old man was around to see those great Reds teams bulldoze the rest of the league. He watched the Sox lose to them in ‘75. He still would tell his son about Johnny and how great he was. Not Fisk. Bench!
