This video is on the work done on a charged particle in a uniform electric fields produced by a pair of parallel charged metal plates.

📚 Syllabus
• investigate and quantitatively derive and analyse the interaction between charged particles and uniform electric fields, including: (ACSPH083)
– electric field between parallel charged plates 𝐸=𝑉/𝑑
– acceleration of charged particles by the electric field 𝐹 ⃗_net=𝑚𝑎 ⃗, 𝐹 ⃗=𝑞𝐸 ⃗
– work done on the charge 𝑊=𝑞𝑉, 𝑊=𝑞𝐸𝑑, 𝐾=1/2 𝑚𝑣^2

How to calculate work done on a charge in an electric field. How to calculate kinetic energy of a charged particle in an electric field. Energy changes in an electric field. Electrical potential energy.

Hello. I know I'm a bit late but Just to clarify, when you say W=1/2m(v-u)^2, do you mean W=1/2m(v^2-u^2)? Because I think it would come from 1/2mv^2 – 1/2mu^2

Great video. Quick question, did you happen to take notes in high school for physics? I'm doing so now, and people advise that I should scrap that idea. But, taking stuff from your videos and the textbook and putting it into my own words is really beneficial for helping me understand certain topics. What's your take on that?

In the last example, can we use W=qV to calculate v? I did but I got a different answer

@4:00 Shouldn't work done W= change in KE + radiation, due to accelerating charge?

Why is the charge of the electron not negative ?
