Uh, ive seen several TE Corollas at SEMA for the past 7-8 years ive been going, stock & modified. Toyota had one stock first gen in their "Corolla Retrospective" years back (2015 or 16 IIRC). And there was one in at least the Toyo Treadpass display beyween Central & South Hall in the 2020's. So I dunno what this guy is going about that there have been no TE Corollas at SEMA.

We’ve been doing “restomod” on old Corolla’s and Datsuns for years. They are awesome track cars, lots of corrolas with engine swaps from the 3gse or whatever it’s called as well as 22re’s, the 1.6’s from the 80’s and even engines from the celiacs not to mention other brands engines. The sunny/510’s are all over CA with KA, sr20’s both na and turbo, I’ve seen them with some rb’s essentially the 2.0’s up to 2.5’s. Most of us aren’t making car show level builds but lots of new paint, engine swaps, dash swaps or stand alone setups. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone do an IRS swap on the solid rear axles. I think I remember seeing an RX3 with a full FC drivetrain swapped into it but they had to cut the drive shaft and do quite a bit of custom fabrication for the rear end. They also swapped the front suspension and steering system too. It was on the cover of one of the mags from the 90’s, super street, or something like that.

I wish I could find a shop that would metal work these old cars… I have an 86 Corolla I can’t find anyone that will help metal work in the southeast US
