Lyrics:

Listen closely for the echo of your Genesis, your inception, your formation, your stigmata from Prometheus.

Innuendos, tracks & traces, ring and replicate, like maps and legends, through and to you. Just follow all the way.

Become your own Prometheus.
Use the flame to burn the tether from the Overseer.
Tame the flame to burn tenacious.

Prime directive violated, still reverberates, puppeteering every action.
Guides your words and ways.

Become your own Prometheus.
Use the flame to burn the tether from the Overseer.
Tame the flame to Burn tenacious.

Carina's vocal harmonies are ethereal on this song.

I already became Pneuma, now I'm supposed to become my own prometheus? This is turning into work.

We are all alive to witness the legend that is Maynard James Keenan. One of the most artistically creative hard working individuals of our time.

Maynard's voice is the best drug of choice for me. And his writing. Fucking epic. All his bands....

A lot of their music has spiritual meditative qualities to it. This song is a prime example. Puscifer has this amazing ability to make silence a strength in their songs. The spaces in between the music provide a uniqueness that I have not heard from other bands. It allows the mind to settle while listening like a meditation.

This might be my favorite Maynard-involved song. Gorgeous and profound.

Who else has this on repeat? My favorite on this album for sure

Damn, never expected to hear echoes of medieval polyphonic organum style in a fuckin modern song, but Maynard never strays from the strange. Wicked stuff!

From beginning to end we always strive for more and more, until there is no more. Light the inner fire and ascend beyond the trap of the 3d realm. Not via technology, but natural process. We are more than most of us know. We were meant to become something spectacular but we limit ourselves and one another.

Feeling this, that quiet ambience during the “burn the tether from the overseer” part. Incredible

That album cover font is sick. Props to the Graphic Designer. Not my speed musically but respect. Keep it real.

The back vocals sample that kicks in at 2:25 is most definitely a bulgarian folklore motive. Maynard had mentioned in an interview once when asked what music he listens, he listed stuff from all over the world including Bulgarian Female Folklore Qhoirs.
The bulgarian spirit in me tells me im right. This song is mistical and hipnotising and also so melancholic that it kind of weighs on your heart.
Greetings from a bulgarian girl in Ireland.
