Sequential Pro 3 SE Review

Overview and review of the new Pro 3 Special Edition from Sequential. Also, a quick correction, you CAN set each of the sequencer tracks to be a separate length!

I didn't really care about Sequential before this came out, but now I want one. I pretty much always need dirty distorted basslines or leads in almost every song, and this thing is really good at those. Plus, it can do lots of other stuff too. So it quickly went up to the top of my GAS list, along with the Peak.

How are you liking it after 2 years ?
My pro 3 se is coming in soon and I cant wait because its kinda everything I need that would boost up my workflow and production for my type of music.
I was wondering if you could layer multiple layers of sequence with taht sequencer? probably not but it would be nice for creatiivity

Please One quick question, I have an OB6 that I love, do you feel I will gain anything more or different seeing I have an OB6 if I get this, I did not like that you felt it was a little dull I know what you mean and I don't like dull sounding Synths. Thank you loved your review

Hey T, eight months later what do you still think about the Pro3se? I Did purchase mine sometime after you released this video. I have yet to feel confident about the purchase. And one on one comparison, the Korg MiniLogue XD, has a better tonality and sound than the Pro 3. The only other thing that I noticed that I might have changed is, well visually the unit needs a knob overhaul. Additionally the way you tune the OSC on the Rev 2, you actually see on the display the note value. On the P3, you get a numeric value. After using both I like the actual note value display. It gets me closer to the root note right away. The rest of it is by ear. These are my thoughts.

On all Youtube demos and reviews the sound is kind of thin and nasal compared to a Moog. Kind of digital somehow, strange. I don't like it at all. What are all the modulations good for if the basic sound misses deepness? My view...

I'm not really sure if it's futuristic look suits the wood. I do think the screen being closer to you would be nice though. I'm surprised they would cheap out on screen printing on a £1500 synth. So the black bits on the SE are painted and the standard are stickers.

Hey I noticed you have the Tyler DX2's and was wondering how big your room is? I was thinking of getting the MM5X's since my mastering room is 12x18x10. But perhaps the DX2's would be just fine in my room (I have plenty of acoustic treatment). Thanks much.
