Man... Dave Smith had a taste for edgy, hard-sounding, aggressive synthesizers that can scream and growl. I definitely would gotten along so well with this man. Amazing instruments. I can't wait to pick one of these up soon. Legends never die. His legacy will continue to inspire.

Man, Dave was such a genius. I don't know how sequential/focusrite can even continue to go on without him and his ideas. RIP Dave.

I have a pro 2, and I’ve never really looked at this newer version and now I’m blown away on how amazing it sounds compared to the pro 2 which sounds completely amazing, but they are definitely different. Now I must have one ha ha. Watching this video with Dave talking it just seems very surreal and sad that he’s gone because he just seemed like an eternal soul. I hope there is reincarnation so he can come back and do more amazing things because he seems to love it more than anything.

My little black beautiful pro three is my “weapon “ of choice it ooozzes an incredible range of modulation and chunkier oscillators than I have heard in a long time . The wave tables are extremely well thought out too it routes anything to anything else in the most direct fashion ever . Its a permanent fixture in my rig ! Thanks DAVE! Smitten 👽

WOW! Despite what some IDIOTS Posted below, this is a VERY powerful synth! Not too long ago, that synth would have been a LOT more expensive. Great sound, very flexible, can even be musical instead of just noise. 3 Osc. 3 filters. 2 LFO. and it does NOT sound "digital". Great Job!

Yes this is a fine synth. The Roland MC707 groovebox has a similar random algorithm for the sequencer and I use it A LOT. If you make sure the notes stay within a chord scale it throws up crazy patterns, always in key, that you'd never have thought of. A really good feature. Other than the Pro 3 I've not seen that on another synth

Does anyone know how to change the pitch bend range?

Does it also have CV in? So you can use the sequencer of the synth while using a modular?

Speaks volumes that yamaha gave him the name back, nice guy.

The onboard FX on every Sequential synth suck good time. FX are very personal and it is better to use decent hardware fx or plugins than this onboard mediocre stuff. Sequential, leave out the digi effects and spend the money on something more special.

Anyhow, the Pro 3 is triumphant monosynth. The sequencer and modular control alone make this instrument very special. I am glad that three oscillators is becoming an accepted standard. It opens up a lot of possibilities. The 3rd wave and others, show that digital oscillators into analog filters sound great too. Quite why the Pro 2 and Pro 12 didn’t ram this home I don’t know. I wish they were both still available. As for Moog….. Dave Smith had to help them out with the Moog One. Bob Moog, I am sure, was a nice guy but Dave Smith gave us so much more. I sincerely hope Novation provides funds and inspiration to catapult Sequential skywards because there isn’t any competition. There, I said it out aloud.
