In today’s episode I am in Arkansas navigating outdoors. The time I had to explore was limited, but the beauty I encountered was immense! So come with me and let’s check out what Arkansas has to offer!
Here's some info abto Devil's Den State Park in Arkansas' Lee Creek Valley.
-Established as an Arkansas state park in the 1930’s.
-The stone structures on site were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps.
-The stone structures on site were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCP).
-The CCP was established as a work relief program during the Great Depression. It provided work for millions of young men and contributed to the development of over 800 parks across the United States. The program ran from 1933 to 1942.
-The motto of the CCP was “We can take it!”
-Scenic vistas, rock formations, and caverns can be located throughout the park and do not disappoint.
-Outdoor opportunities abound. Hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, horseback riding, camping, fishing (there is an 8-acre lake on site), or take a swim at the pool. So much to see and do here.
-Looking to stay awhile. The park offers 17 cabins with kitchens and fireplaces; 6 camper cabins; 135 campsites (44 Class AAA, 24 Class D with no hookups, 8 hike-in tent only sites; 42 sites with hookups in the horse camps).
