TWIN PARADOX Simple Animation

In the video the twin on Earth sends a signal every year on his birthday to the twin on the ship. The ship travels at half the speed of light while the signals travel at the speed of light.

If you have a pair of twins and one goes on a ship travelling near the speed of light while the other stays on Earth each twin will think the other is aging more slowly.

How can each twin age more slowly than the other? This is the Twin Paradox.

This simple animation shows why this phenomenon happens and how it is resolved.

In reality the twin on the ship is the one who is aging more slowly due to time dilation. This is because it is the ship that turns around and travels back to the Earth.

I will likely make a more in-depth video in the future explaining exactly what is happening, but this animation should give you a general idea.
