Tube-Nosed Bat in care: this is Moonbeam

Moonbeam is an adult female Eastern Tube Nosed Bat who came into care after being found hooked up on barbed wire. Tubie batty rescues aren't common and there are generally few in care over all the carers.
They are fairly solitary batties who don't roost together. Mandi has them in adjoining cages now with no barrier between the cages.

This video is a fundraiser for the construction costs of the new super duper aviary Mandi is building so she has large aviary space which can be divided off into separate areas of different sizes as needed, so there will be Hospital space, Walter space (which he doesn't have to share with rehab batties because we all know how that ends up!), rehab space, education bat space, and of course, the sin bin to separate the naughty boys who won't leave the girls alone during breeding season.

Tolga Bat Hospital takes donations for the aviary fundraiser.
Mention Megabattie or Meg/Aviary in the PayPal message box and the money will find its way to the aviary building fund.
If no message box appears, please email Jenny to tell her that the money is for me.
IMPORTANT: If you pay through the PayPal Giving Fund which is the preferred method of donating, can you please email Jenny with the amount donated and the name under which you have donated, OR just forward along the PP receipt.
The Giving Fund doesn’t charge any fees (so the bats get more money) but PP doesn’t itemise out the amount, they just send a total every month, and we don’t know if the money is for Tolga or for Megabattie.

If anyone had told me a few years ago I would become fascinated and in love with bats I would have laughed. They are simply some of the most interesting, necessary and beautiful mammals on the planet!!
Learning about them honestly has brought some joy to life. Looking at those faces always makes me smile!!🦇❤️

Oh wow, it's like night and day comparing that first clip of Moonbeam all hunched up guarding some food and clearly very uncertain about her current circumstances and then Wiggles who's so clearly chill. At least she was looking a bit more at ease in the later clip. Love the tubies and those lovely spot patterns of theirs! 🦇❤️
