He didn't hate him at first. All cats do that. Cats are threatened by other cats. That's why you have to introduce them slowly, by giving the kitten his own room, while the other cat sniffs under the door. Then you would feed them both on the opposite sides of the door. Then you would eventually open the door, and put out a baby gate. Then you would remove the gate, and see how they do.

Cosmo never hated, or was afraid of, Sasha. He just wanted Sasha to know he (Cosmo) was the boss kitty in charge. 😼❤❤

When I brought home my new kitten for my older cat I told my older cat for about a year that he was going to have a little sister and he was so happy to receive her. And then I let her in print on him before me so there was no jealousy and he took her under his paw and they are best friends from day one

I’ve had kitties my entire life, lowest I’ve had is 3, highest is 6 (all at once), boys are especially territorial & can take longer to come around, you were very fortunate in this case that they did end up loving each other but it doesn’t always work out (even after spaying, they can still be distressed & spray all over the place in alpha like behaviour). One way to help avoid that is to slowly introduce, keep kitten in another room, take out the blanket it sleeps on, introduce that, just do it in stages.
So glad this had a happy ending! They’re both beautiful! 🥰

It’s so nice seeing 2 cats warm up to eachother! Took me such a long time to get my 2 to warm up that this one just immediately reminded me of all the shenanigans I had to deal with, trying to prevent them from brutally murdering each other 😂
