Personally I didn't lose an inch of fat off my body, till I started counting calories through my fitness pal. As a petite woman, it's very easy for me to overeat.

Calories are approximations not realistic. Nothing I eat has an ingredients list or calorie label anyway.

You don't have to do it long term but it is something everyone should have done at some point along their fitness journey.
It will show you if your usual diet has way to much or way to little of anything.
You are guaranteed to learn a thing or two as you track, after that tracking becomes less necessary.
e.g. many people seem to not realize that nuts usually have much more fat than they do protein. Or the insane amounts of added sugar that's in plenty of innocent looking foods. Or they might notice their fat intake is so low that it could be throwing off their hormones.

How, specifically, do you count your protein grams?? By scale or by estimation with an app?? Or the amount of protein that the package says is in whatever you're eating?? I am trying to do this and it is still very difficult.

Hey coach ! TBH i hate counting and weighing but if I’m not tracking intake how can I be sure I’m staying in a deficit? Fat loss and weight loss hinge on calories in versus calories out so if your prioritizing protein macros, how would you ensure your carbs and fats are in line ? HELP😩

My ED was brought on by Lifetime movies about EDs and I picked the easier one 😵‍💫 🙈 But it wasn't long-term thankfully...I can't manage to stick to anything long-term.

Isnt really a good reason for stop counting calories just because people underestimate calories by 30%. Also, fill in what gap? fill in your calories? So you still keep track of your protein but not calories? hmm. Sure. Protein intake is important and carbs and fats can fill in rest of the calories, but telling people to stop counting calories because of those reasons is just bs. Imagine people trying to lose weight and followed your advice. What "gap" are you talking about? calories? What can be count can be managed. Even if is off by 30%, it is better than not counting it.

I disagree, perhaps on a deficit but definitely not on a clean bulk, real easy to stay at maintenance or get fat quickly. Your scale is accountability of 2-3 pounds of mass only a month. If you eat the same foods and track, it’s pretty easy to make adjustments. You have data but for genetic freaks in a good way, they can eat Doritos and still be ripped.
