This video will introduce to you types of footings or type
of foundations in construction.
Here are some common types of footings used in construction:
1. Strip Footing: Long, narrow footings for load-bearing walls or closely spaced columns.
2. Spread Footing: Individual footings supporting isolated columns or individual loads.
3. Combined Footing: Supports multiple columns when their individual footings would overlap.
4. Mat or Raft Footing: Large, thick slabs covering the entire building area to distribute loads.
5. Pile Footing: Deep, slender elements driven into weak or compressible soil for load transfer.
6. Strap Footing: Connects multiple isolated footings with a beam to distribute loads.
These footings are selected based on factors such as structural design, soil conditions, and load requirements.
