The phrase "right space for the application" means you have to make sure you use the right reverb for the kind of sound you are wanting to achieve. You wouldn't want to put the spaceship reverb on a song that calls for a soft and intimate vibe. Likewise, you wouldn't want to put a small room reverb on an orchestra. It's just not right.
