Anyone woman who has gotten a husband stitch can press charges against her doctor for medical battery. It is against the law to do procedures on a person without their consent and knowledge. Any doctor who does the husband stitch should lose his/her license and go to prison and be sanctioned by Medicare.

The husband stitch can actually cause massive issues for the woman, including making it difficult to have sex in general

I've actually confronted two groups of men about it. They were both laughing about and talking about the husband stitch in a very positive way and I interjected myself into the conversation and said it was gross and wrong. The look of shock they all had on their faces was insane. Like they just couldn't believe anyone would have an issue with the husband stitch. I think in both groups, someone said that it was fine because it was for the marriage. I just remembered that they also all seemed to think it was OK because the woman wouldn't even know about it. In my mind that makes it worse. It's all just so weird and gross.

Yeah, I heard of it. And my first thoughts were how our entire existence seems to for males' pleasure with no after thought of ourselves. It's really sad. They don't go through anything similar for us

I worked in L&D for many years 20 + and I have never heard anyone but maybe 2 (stupid) husband’s asking for that mess and we usually just shake our heads and tell him NO. Absolutely NO and shut that down. No Dr in their right mind would stitch anyone like that. At least in all the places I’ve worked. That’s horrible.

Anyone who knows anything about sex knows that the vagina relaxes when it’s emotionally and physically pleasurable for a woman. A super tight kewchie during sex is a sign that the male is doing a poor job, or the woman is not in an emotional state to be having relations. I have heard of the husband stitch; but there is no medical evidence to support it, because kewchies snap back after childbirth. Reason #857, 348 why men should no involvement in women’s healthcare on ANY level.

I asked the head nurse about the husband stitch and she had a look of shock that I knew anything about it. She said the hospital doesn't do that at all

They did this to me after I gave birth to my son and I didn't know what it was for, and I did have pain down there after it for a long time. This is triggering and makes me angry because no one asked me if they could do this before they did it.🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

This is the same notion that a woman's vagina must be tight for sexual pleasure. The inner part of the vagina is elastic. A woman's vagina should never be tight. If her vagina is tight it can cause all kinds of medical complications for her and reduce her pleasure. A woman's vagina should be healthy happy and whole. This also goes back to the cultural breaking of the hymen to show a woman's virginity. There are some women whose hymen is broken at birth or it can be broken by playing sports or riding a bicycle. All of these things are done to measure a woman's value from a skewed perspective. This is so sad.

There's this doctor on YT, can't remember his name now. He said the number of times a male partner has gone behind women who are his clients to try and override her surgery choices like in breast augmentation. She picks a smaller size and the partner pulls him aside post consultation to ask if he can make them bigger than she's requesting, nod, nod, wink, wink.

I'm in tears....this "procedure" IS FGM. They have no problem, in fact seem to get more enjoyment from hurting women. I have endometriosis and so my pain is something I was born with. But to know that "doctors" are/were doing this to women has me literally about to cry. I am SO sorry for ANY woman who had this done to her!!!😢

so much of pre-natal care and L&D care isnt about what the woman wants. esp. once you are in labor. they just give you instruction, often without even telling you what they are going to do much less explaining it. on the L&D floor informed consent is just a suggestion. if you ask questions you're "being difficult", if you're a POC and ask questions you're being "combative"

I remember a woman on tv who had been maimed by a very tight husband stitch when the medics asked her man how tight he wanted her when she was in and out of consciousness.

I didn't know that this was a thing. I'm so disturbed by this procedure. This is another reason why I prefer Black women doctors and health professionals. 😳😳😥😥

My *female* OB/GYN gave me this after my first child was born, laughing about it with my then partner- it resulted in nerves being sewn on the *outside* of my body and sex being agony for almost 5 years, it ended when my second child was born. The 3rd degree episiotomy I was subjected to for my first 6lb baby was because the student OB ‘needed the practice’ and it left me an absolute physical mess; my 7lb 12oz next baby didn’t even result in a tear- and I didn’t tear with any of the other 5 either, even when one was almost 9lb.

My hospital births for the first two taught me that hospital was the WORST place to have a baby so all the others were born at home, the second last I did by myself and the last was just me and the bub’s dad in the birthing pool together. The medical system has so much contempt for female bodies and birthing mummas that i have turned my back on it.

I'd heard of this. I thought it was a joke. I'm horrified now. Especially knowing it's being done without consent.
