The irony that Brett said "i.e. us" when quoting the sign about the rich visiting and Jade laughs, then not being able to buy many groceries in the store. I also like it when you show repairing your boat in glamorous places like the French Riviera, as we all know, boats are a hole in the water that you throw money and time into. Glad to see you sailing again, though I am also anxious to see the new top completed.

So great to see you all back on the water for a nice little "relaxing" sail! lol😉Wow, you really had to overcome a lot of struggles in this one. Made me realize how much I miss your sailing content, but I'm sure you'll be back at it in no time. Great video and hugs to the pups!

You just need to tighten the leech cords on your sails until the leech stops luffing.
For the rolling while at anchor, tie a line to your anchor rhode about 1 1/2 boat lengths from your bow, then wrap the line around a stern cleat and tighten until the bow is pointed into the waves

You said in the beginning that "there are a lot of very nice boats around". I think your boat is very nice and I am a fisherman and power boater who does not sail. Usually if I encounter a sailboat I get yelled at for not giving way. Now I have a new appreciation for this sailing stuff. As long as I can troll that beats burning 80 gallons of fuel a trip! Thanks for sharing!

Cereal boxes. The cardboard used in cereal boxes an other food boxes, are great to make those gaskets out of. Open the box up, set it on the part an tap it with a hammer. The shape of the part will mark the cardboard so you can cut it out. Rub some rubber gasket stuff on it if you have it, but it works fine without it.

I spent 3 years sailing and living aboard in the med. Do yourself a favor and invest in a Fortress anchor to use as a stern anchor, they are super light and easy to set and take out in the dinghy. I use mine on a short chain and then rope rode, can even take it out on SUP. Also in the med it is worth adding a fender to indicate that you have it out, as I am sure you are finding, many boats will try anchor on top of you.

Was only checking this afternoon to see if you’d posted recently. I’ve missed the updates. Really lovely to see you guys sailing again!

Since you've already come such a long way and are so captivated by the Mediterranean, you absolutely should sail to the Croatian coast. With so many islands and anchorages to explore, it's an experience you simply can't afford to miss. I believe you would love it so much, you might not want to leave. You are great. I wish you a good wind at your back.

As a former long-time cruiser and a retired video producer, I just have to say, you guys are my favorite channel on YouTube.
Your editing and content is superb. When I watch content and never think about sound, edits, lighting, or shadows, you have succeeded in producing a quality product above and beyond the top 99% of content. Not only are you the best sailing channel, but just the best channel, period finished, the end. Parlay Revival is a close second sailing wise. You bring me right back emotionally to long passages, deserted islands, and exotic travels. You made me miss the beautiful mindset of sailing. One day, I hope to sail again, but a million thanks, and may the breeze always be on your beam.
Sincerely
Steven D Naar

19:10 You guys! You’re bringing out the memories for me. I had a 1978 maroon Triumph Spitfire. I am 6’3” tall but it didn’t matter to me that my head stuck up above the roll bar 😂. What a great trip. Can’t wait to see the new dodger on Eva. ❤.

I've been to the French Riviera twice unfortunately not on a sailboat. But I do recommend making sure you spend time exploring the area around Nice.

If you'd like a spectacular view of the sea, take a cab up to the town of Eze and visit the Hotel Chateau de La Chevre d'Or (The Golden Goat). I recommend brunch on the cliffs overlooking EVA, Saint Jean Cap Ferrat, and the pups.

You will get no "expert" advice from me. I am just happy to see you both enjoying your time on the water and not in a marina or workshop. Thanks for sharing!

Yaaaay! You posted again, always so glad when you put out a new video.
So are you guys posting new videos about your new dodger on Engenineering Evans?

Are we missing out on the hard work and toil from your "grid days" to a new channel?

The few times I was aboard ships, I made sure I had the highest berth in our compartment. That ensured the most rocking, which I loved! While other guys were getting seasick (which is really awful, but as Marines, we still had to give them grief), I would munch a couple of packs of saltines, listen to tapes on a Walkman I won in a poker game (Walkman cassette player, yes, I’m that old), and just let the Sea of Japan rock me to sleep. Good times. 😎

My grandfather used to make gaskets from leather. You can use leather tools to cut, shape, and drill holes pretty easily and accurately.
