*About Us*
We are Becka and Zach, a couple who, in 2020, dreamt of sailing off into the big blue. Trouble is- we were in a pandemic, had a university degree to finish, on a student budget, only had ever sailed dingies, oh and didn't have a boat. The dream seemed not only unrealistic but pretty insane.

However, we worked hard, finished our degrees, worked as many hours as physically possible, saved with all our might, got experience and in March 2022 bought our very own sailboat, Teulu. Having little sailing experience and being a young couple, we have encountered a tonne of hurdles and made plenty of mistakes! but for every downfall, there has always been a reason to dust ourselves off and carry on.

When you said "we're all just one injury away from the end of an adventure" I just started crying. It's been a year and a half since a knee injury stopped my life, and I don't know how to begin again. You're very lucky to have zach and a lovely boat, hopefully this never happens again.

Congrats to Zach for not just is DIY skills, but his commitment to DIR doing it right! Teulu is going to be stunning and better than ever when all is said and done and I can't wait to see it all come together.

This episode really hit home for me. As someone who has always been active and has suffered a couple of (quite frankly, avoidable) serious back injuries in the past 10+ years, I can completely relate to that feeling of frustration and fear to suddenly realize just how close you are to not being to able to do all of the things you've dreamed of in life. But fortunately, you'd learned this important lesson in the prime of your youth and I have no doubt you won't ever take that for granted as you continue to heal your body and mind.

These days, if someone asks "what advice would you give your younger self", it's no longer something financial (like, contribute earlier to your retirement - though that's good too!), it's 'Protect your back, body and health at all costs'. Without those things, all the money in the world doesn't mean $hit. You've got this, Becka, and just like Teulu, you're going to eventually bounce back stronger than ever! 💪💪💪 Looking forward to seeing you back where you belong very soon ❤‍🩹

Becka: My sister-in-law and her husband Frank flew from Maine to Florida last November to open up their Treasure Island home for the winter. Arriving late 12;30AM in Treasure Island, Betty is 78 years old, the went to bed. Around the 3AM time BB got up to relieve her bladder in the dark and tripped over her luggage, falling on her knee's. The terrazzo floor did not cushion her fall and Frank rushed her to the Hospital. She had broken her left knee cap. She agonized for months from the pain. We all are praying your aliment with repair as Zach is doing a marvelous job on Teulu's interior.
