Recently Satechi launched a new line of keyboards for iPads, Mac's and iPhones. In this video we are taking a closer look at the Satechi Slim X1 Bluetooth backlit keyboard and how it works with the iPad Air 4 and the iPad Pro. They also launched a new iPad stand that works great if you want to use your iPad like a traditional desktop computer. This backlit keyboard allows you to connect 3 Bluetooth devices and allows you to switch back and forth easily.

My Satechi X1 keyboard arrived today, and I have to say, it's a whole lot better than I was expecting.

I've been using a regular Microsoft keyboard for a long time, and I wasn't sure how I would take to using the Satechi X1, but, it's really awesome.

It has a bit of weight to it, which I wasn't expecting (this is a good thing), and the keys are quite comfortable to type on for extended periods of time.

It is a really good keyboard.

I purchased one after watching this video to use on my Mac. I am returning it for two reasons, firstly because I have to disable File Vault to allow the keyboard to work at the login screen. And secondly because the response time is slow and creates issues with characters doubling up or not being recognised at all. I wanted to keep it because it is a beautiful design but I became frustrated correcting the mistakes way too frequently. I have 2 Apple Magic keyboards that don't have these issues and also work at a far greater distance. I can only assume that the Bluetooth hardware in the X1 must be old technology or cheap to cause these issues. I wish Apple would make a mini space grey keyboard!

That looks like a great setup for your iPad, and the keyboard seems like a premium product. I still mostly type on my computers, but a keyboard like this could get using the iPad more for typing. Great review and product demo.

Big Thumbs Up Sean.. I have to have the stand and the keyboard... Very nice.... I'm struggling with the on screen keyboard on the iPad and this would make a nice addition to the mobile editor I want to become.. or as you say... a "Minimalist"

The only thing keeping me from buying this keyboard is that there isnt a spanish layout option, i think they are missing a big market there. that would make this product perfect, well, that and maybe more colors, id love to see this one in white.

how do you change the "input language" when you are typing on two languages? on the one i Have the "fn" button which was supposed to do it...doesn't change the "input language"...you guys face that?

Hello. Is the colour on a darker, or lighter shade of grey? Apple seems to make every device with a different shade of grey. My tracpad is really dark grey and my MBP 14 is light, closer to silver. How dose it compare to the shade of grey used by Satechi as I have no way to see it in person. Many thanks.
