Man, the moment that guy said his own weapon was heavy I knew that barring his opponent's weapon breaking apart he was going to lose. These smith really need to watch the show so they understand that all things being equal the lighter weapon will win.

Chris definitely never watched forged in fire before. Heavy weapons instantly lose. If they say it’s heavy in the first test, you already lost unless the opponents weapon breaks.

I wonder if the cracks in Mark's axe were a blessing in disguise. By cutting around them he lightened his weapon. The lightness as well as the excellent edge was the tipping point that gave him the win.

Granted, the judges rightfully prefer strong and light. BUT, in this instance I would rather have the heavier tabar in that kind of combat. The way it caved in the armor was devastating.
