Here's my 2025 Chevy Silverado 1500 this Week featuring the TrailBoss on Everyman Driver

The U.S. car market has long been dominated by full-size pickup trucks, with the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 being a key player. This truck is in constant competition with the Ford F-150 and Ram 1500, and to a lesser extent, the Toyota Tundra and Nissan Titan.

The Chevy Silverado 1500 stands out with its impressive towing capabilities, diverse engine options, and various cab-and-bed configurations. Buyers can choose from a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, two powerful V8s, or an efficient turbodiesel engine. The Silverado is available in single cab, double cab, and crew cab styles, with short and long bed options. It also offers seven trim levels, from the base WT (Work Truck) to the luxurious High Country.

Beyond its configurations, the Silverado boasts a long list of standard features, advanced tech options, and enhancements for safety, comfort, and off-road capability. Despite these strengths, the Silverado faces stiff competition: the Ford F-150 offers higher maximum towing and hauling capacities, and the Ram 1500 is noted for its superior ride comfort. While the 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 remains a strong contender, it has a tough battle ahead in this competitive market segment.

Hands down the sweetest rig on the market. IMO

Just bought a 2024 Silverado 1500 5.3 Trail Boss LT a month ago. Love it so far. Much more room than my previous 2014 Silverado 1500 LT. Tech is terrific. Towing is better. Stance, drive, power, space and suspension are all very good in my opinion. I also test drove a 2024 F150 with the 5.0 Coyote engine and I liked the Silverado much better.

Chevy bumper tailgate combo is the best. No moving parts.

You can option in the Multi Flex tailgate, and it's not that expensive.

I’ve owned 8 f150’s with 5.4/5.0/3.5tt, and I can honestly say I love my 2023 Lt trailboss with the 6.2 much better than any ford truck I’ve ever owned. Only thing I wish is that Chevy would put the 6.2 in the custom trailboss like they use to, bc I much prefer the custom trim level over the Lt, after owning both trims

Does the bed, or a big back seat make a truck?

I can probably count on one hand the amount of times I've needed to climb into the bed of a truck. I'm 6'5" so I guess my reach negates the need for my presence in the bed. Wish they'd bring back the option for Red Hot in the LTZ. I don't care for the red/black combo which is the only way to get the 6.2 with Red Hot.

I would like to see them make more comfortable seats on the higher trims

So Im guessing 2025 and 2024 are exactly the same

Is the center console shifter removed in 2025 for the bench seat and steering column shifter?

This truck is not top of the line, so it's not a fair comparison when comparing it to an F150 or Ram.

So the 24 and 25 are the same?? Nothing changed?

I have a 24 Lt trail boss with all the bells and whistles except for sunroof. My 5th Silverado. Just done a 1.5 level and Range Technologies AFM delete. Also put the stubby antenna on. Happy as always but not a fan of the 20 inch black wheels. Started to get an RST loaded but not a fan of the wheels on it either. For decades Chevy had the best looking factory wheels hands down.

Still sucks we can’t spec a single cab with a 5.3 or 6.2

Tailgate is great, nice and light weight without all the old man accessories. My 5.3 gets close to 18mpg with just normal driving. Better than some of the mid size trucks with a 6 cyl. Id rather not have the extra tech they put on some of these trucks, bells and whistles are for debutants. I imagine the trailboss is a more stiff ride than others being it has the front spacers to get the lift.

This is a 2025 or 2024? Chevy’s biggest problem in my opinion is they dont have a good high end GAS engine that gets good fuel economy. They need a twin turbo v6 and/or hybrid option. Id also like to see hands on lane centering that works with adaptive cruise on all models like the tundra.

Good video of the interior, now I have truck fever again. My favorite truck was a 1998 S10 ZR2, wish I had kept it.
