Body found in Ont. identified as B.C. woman who went missing 19 years ago

A woman's body, found almost 20 years ago in a wooded area between Rockwood and Guelph, Ont., has now been identified.

The human remains were discovered by a passerby who was walking near a picnic rest area along Highway 7 on Aug. 28, 2005.

Her body was found less than a year after she was reported missing, but wasn't identified as her? Wasn't DNA testing a thing in 2005? I'm not being accusatory, I just don't understand why it would have taken so long in the modern age to have made the connection. Is the Canadian national database of missing persons simply too massive to navigate?

So sad. She was murdered & her body was dumped and they label it a suspicious death & not murder? Sometimes I think the police are just not doing their jobs.

2019 I got forced to the hospital and got blood work done I got told before that some of my family was from Canada I was in a foster home back in the 90s so I'm not really sure who my family truly is. Besides I also think I was kidnapped also but I wonder if this has anything to do with me getting blood work done.

The question isn't why IGG takes so long. It is why was someone reported missing in BC, and when a body is found in ON 6 months later (February reported missing, body in August), it is a big mystery for 19 years? What is missing across provinces that would allow this to happen?

She look like etobiko young. Woman .i told them look like from alberta mising base on face i dreamd. Them after looking at her profile most time i give them a name to the name match the skeleton remains most of the time than the culprints. Are afraid i may knowcthem i dont know them nither the victim
