I just got an undercut 3 days ago and unfortunately the top isn’t quite long enough to make a topknot how long would I have to wait for the top to grow out if I were to maintain the undercut parts

Of course do what you think is cool, but imo having a tinyass knot on your head looks dumb as hell. At this length your hair would look much better down and wavy.
Buns for style shouldn't be done until your hair is at shoulder length.
