How to tie the best Truckers Hitch

This is the best way I have found how to tie a trucker or truckies hitch. Using a fixed loop using a slip knot, alpine butterfly or overhand loop, means feeding the tail through to tie and untie the knot.

I've been using this hitch for 40 years and when it comes down to tying things down, it simply can't be beat.

I was taught that knot by my dad 50+ years ago.We always used it for tying down hay.It's a easy knot to undo and retie after the bails have settled in.He would haul 400+ bails on a semi and I can't remember us ever loosing a load and that's a lot of rope.

Good shit man first truckers hitch I’ve thought was fast and simple

As an actual trucker, tree guy, and knot guy, I actually use a sheepshank as my anchor. Much more stable than a regular version, you can use it to burn your extra rope, and if I am going far I tie a half hitch in the upper loop.
