If there is anything I will remember the rest of my life about biology, it is that the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell.

Excellent video. Much appreciated. There's a small error at MINUTE 5:10. One proton reentering the matrix doesn't produce one ATP molecule from ADP. One full turn of the ATP Synthase turbine represents 8 protons entering and leaving. This produces one ATP molecule.

One other thing found at SECOND 45 and towards the end of the video. When it's stated that "there are thousands of mitochondria in a cell", this needs specificity. A neuron—2, 500 to 3, 000 mitochondria—or heart muscle cells—2, 000 to 2, 500—run into the several thousand mark. Correct.

Yet a typical fat cell has about 50 mitochondria used for triglyceride reconstitution from free fatty acids, and for production of hormones, like leptin, estrogen, resistin, adiponectin and a few others.

I'm glad you mentioned the endosymbiosis. So many teachers don't.

I love your videos, they help me remember what I've learned because of your great visual aids!
Everyone though, it's "the mitochondria are the powerhouses of the cell." Mitochondrion is the singular. Also a great book to check out on the history of the endosymbiotic theory is "One Plus One Equals One." The hypothesis was around much before Lynn Margulis but she definitely expounded on it and helped it's acceptance.

Mitochondria is plural therefore it should be "Mitochondria are the powerhouses of the cell"

The singular is Mitochondrion.
