In this tutorial, we’re going to show you how to use slicers for pivot tables in Excel 2016.
First, we’ll need a pivot table. If you haven’t already, go under the Insert tab and click Pivot Table with your data selected or at least one cell of it selected.

After setting up the pivot table (we have specific tutorials on how to create a pivot table), go under the Analyze tab and click Insert Slicer.

Choose which piece of data to filter using the Slicer and click OK.

The Slicer is a visual filter, you can use it simply and stylishly to filter data.

This is a HowTech tutorial, visit our website and watch our videos for more.

Is there a way to copy and paste a certain list of values into the slicer? For example, the pivot table brings up 1000 account codes but I only want to see the results for 200 of those 1000. I have the list of the 200 account codes ...I want to insert it into the slicer or any other filtering option. Is this feasible? Thanks in advance.
