Today I’m finally going to “pull back the curtain” for so many of you and explain the major differences between the KTM XC and the KTM XC-W Line. Keep in mind that generally speaking the EXC line from Europe and Australia are essentially the same thing as the XC-W line here in the USA. The main things were they differ come down to suspension and gearing. I hope you enjoy the video and learn something.

Within 1:30 you gave me the answer to my question that I was struggling to find anywhere else. This is how all videos should be and thank you dude. I stayed and watched the rest of the video because I liked this and your other videos so much. I've subscribed :)

so the XCW - with the lower 1st and 2nd gear - you're probably less likely to stall in the slower harder single track trails. Thanks for this video. I just bought a preowned 2009 200 XCW.

Ktm’s are so beautiful. I’ve owned Honda, yamaha and Kawasaki only my entire life for bikes, always coveted KTMS. I’m shopping for one now .

Dude you're doing such a great job with these videos. I've enjoyed all of them because you provide us with real useable information about the things we really need as riders. Keep up the good work and hope your good as new from your knee injury ✊ braaapp

Great explanation! Thanks for the info and clear explanation.

On another note have you ever done an overview of height (seat height, rider height) for all these different brand bikes you ride/own? Those would be good videos also.

I prefer the wide ratio transmission, headlight, tailight, trip meter, linkage suspension, and a carburetor! 2018 Husqvarna TE250 was right for me. Love my bike!

Kyle great videos and info. I am picking up a 2019 KTM 300 XC-F TPI next week. It was a tough choice deciding between this bike and the XC. Your videos definitely helped. I am coming off a 450WR, hoping the xcf hits hard enough out of the hole. I ride mostly trails - classify myself as a beginner to intermediate rider but want to get better.

Nice video! I agree about the trans. My preference is also the XC trans, 1st is actually a little low on the "W" even in gnarly stuff, making it easier to get on the pipe and spin when you wanna grunt it. The 300 has so much grunt that it pulls the slightly taller XC 1st gear just fine in the gnar. An owner can always gear the XC down a little if 1st is too tall also.

These 300s are great bikes either way - they are favorite I have ever owned. Selling my '13 TE 300 (XC-W) and just bought and '18 XC. The new e-start and counter balancer are awesome! :)

My 2009 400 XC-W is street legal, even has the California emissions tag on it.

Perfect explanation. The 250 xc seems to be the all-around dream bike. But here in Greece no one, and I mean NOONE, knows the existence of the pure XC line.
Not even the sellers. Where could I find one? (And Not pay for the transfer from states 😏)
Also, great work dude. I’ve seen all your vids, and they’re great! Thank you 🙏🏾

Love the EXC prior to 07 before they were street legal and you had to convert them for the street.  Nothing like it.

Good info. Easier said, the xc-w is more for enduro riding/racing and xc is more single track racing/jumping

I have a 200 xc-w and he is right about that gap between 2nd and 3rd gear I’m always shifting up and down a little more then a bigger bike

Definitely more enlightening regarding the differences between XC and XC-W, that I’ve been able to find elsewhere. Thanks.
