Thank you. My neighbor gave me an old Simplicity 6400. My old Kenmore stopped because the chord broke on the body. They gave it to me with a full bag, so I emptied it some just to try it out before I ordered new bags. It vacuumed a rug so well!! It's much better than the cheap windtunnel I got off another neighbor. But it stopped right when I finished the rug. My Kenmore had a little reset button. But I couldn't find one on this vacuum until you showed where it was on the Riccar. I looked in the same place on the Simplicity, and there it was. Very tiny. I now know I need to order bags and get vacuuming. Thank you!

I know this is an older video but so is my vacuum. I found a Riccar 8955, at a second store, for $25. Looks/works like new. Suddenly quit. Hit the magic button on the back and boom! Thank you!

Why do they put the magic button behind the motor with no access door requiring you to totally disassemble the vacuum when the switch goes bad?

Sure enough. Clog by the roller where the dirt first goes into the vacuum. Cleared it, hit the reset button. Good as new.

Thanks for the video!! Question. I’ll be purchasing a new Simplicity Hepa upright vacuum. A local guy said there have been issues with the steel roller being out of balance and that I should go with the one with the composite roller. Any thoughts. I think he said it was a different brand name then simplicity.
