Ive found routing to be great for when you actually have piping included that will be welded. Real world welded piping may start as a flange/conc/tee/2 90 elbows/2 flanges as an example. Since every piece of pipe added is 2 more welds that a welder has to make, some welded assembly sections (or routes)may not contain any pipe. If the above route is drawn, you must remove the pipe that is drawn automatically. The editing of this route with no pipe can be tedious and difficult to modify. Curious if anyone else has had issues with editing routes that have very little pipe.

Just 2 question.
1) How do you remove the bevels where the various parts connect
2) Is it possible to use different angles and bending radious for each elbow?(with the routing component i mean)

You may have wanted to be more specific in mentioning that you have to start an assembly, not a part for the drag and drop functionality to work.

Great video. But i could not find the folder after i've activated the solidworks routing on the add ins.. mind to help how to?

hi Tandy after loading the routing add in, I choose the flange you mention and drag it in to Solidworks new part I get a message saying " are you trying to make a derived part?" hit yes and the a "insert part" click in the graphics area to place part or hit ok button to insert the part at the origin". Once I do this I do not get the routing menu, all I get is the standard feature manager. When I choose no to the derived parts question the flange is inserted but in yellow again without the routing feature? What am I doing wrong?

hello, nice video

but how can I define a standard length for my pipes.

Exemplo;

I do a line with 8100 so the routing should create two tubes, one with 6000mm and another with 2100mm, because I defined that the maximum length for any pipes is 6000mm
