If you have strabismus and are looking for solutions to straighten your eyes or fix a lazy eye (amblyopia), then hopefully you've found vision therapy, and hopefully that means you are doing virtual reality. Because VR is an amazing tool for learning to unlearn strabismus.

This video includes a comparison between the Oculus GO and the Oculus Quest for both Vivid Vision and Optics Trainer, two amazing Vision Therapy apps for Virtual Reality from a patient perspective. I've never seen the Doctor's side of the program so this is just comparing the differences that I see when using each headset.

Hi. My son has strabismus(exotropia) in the right eye and we are doing vision therapy. He sees his optometrist once every two weeks with home activities. His eyes are almost fully corrected with glasses but not quite. He is at the point though where his eyes are working together. We are doing the vectograph and he sometimes can differentiate when the "circles" are closer/further away. His optometrist has not suggested vr for vision therapy yet but I'm going to bring it up to him when we see him next. Thanks so much for this review it was very informative. I really hope we can purchase one of these devices for him in the near future.

My son is 7, he’s ran into things, got a couple concussions, and it’s because his depth perception is not that great. So he’s being doing eye therapy which is pretty expensive, but they do VR there. I am happy to hear there are apps for training your eyes! It seems the quest 2 is the most versatile for everyday stuff. But I thought I’d try games or something but these app games are just like the ones at therapy. Pretty pumped, thanks for your content

New to VR. What is the exact equipment to begin with? I am seeing a lot of attachments and cables. Thank you

Thank you. This has been greatly helpful. One question though. Were you using the Oculus Quest 1 or 2?

I was wondering if the quest also has amblyopia training that dims or blocks out a little of the good eye screen like Vivid Vision does, this would challenge the weaker eye more.

Hello i am 23 years old and my right eye is weaker . Doctors in my place said there is no treatment for amblyopia. So i am researching this on the net and there are success stories by using VR . My question is can i buy a VR set and do the exercises at home and try ? Please reply it would be really helpful 🥺. Doctors in my place are not willing to try anything so have to try on my own .

When you do amblyopia training should you use both eyes all the time or is it a good idea to use just your weak eye for a while before doing 2 eyes at the same time?
