Tempura prawn - tempura shrimp - tempura recipe
Delicious marinated tempura shrimp (prawn) recipe. This is my own tempura recipe, I always found tempura to taste a little bland, so I decided to create a marinade that would emphasise the shrimp's taste.
What you will need is

Marinade ingredients:

- Shrimp (prawns)
- 2 Tbsp fish sauce (made of anchovies)
- 1 tsp soya sauce
- 1 tsp thick teriyaki sauce
- 1 tsp sesame seed oil
- 3 cloves crushed garlic

Frying ingredients:

- Marinated shrimp
- Tempura batter (tempura flour 100 g / 3.5 ounces and 160ml / (2/3) US cup water )
- Panko (Japanese bread crumbs )

Ebi fry has panko not ebi itself, ebi is just Japanese for shrimp/prawn.
Also the trick to making tempura is that you don't mix the batter very thoroughly so there is still a bit of pockets in the mix. Additionally you cool down the batter either in the fridge or you add ice in it right before you start frying. Also

Do you have your own tempura batter recipe ?? My old chef had us make tempura.. We did two cups of flower to one cup of corn starch. Then add Soda water and whisk till proper consistency! Tastes good but what the difference between this and the bagged tempura ??

because tempura is not use a bread crumps :) it is just a tempura butter and then you fry it, sorry for my bad english :)

Hi, what temperature is your oil ? (Sorry for my english btw I'm french) ! 

Cause I once baked my tempura shrimp in an oil to hot I guess, it was to crispy, brown and with a taste of barbecue :p

Nice but there's not panko in tempura, shrimps are not marinated and the batter must be very very cold !

you made "Ebi-fry" in this video clip, not tempura. If you don't use bread crumb, it's tempura.
