I've been gigging and busking for around 30 years and have gone through a while bunch of acoustic amps : aer compact mobile (over-priced and too strong in the mids, sounding nasal), roland ex( too synthetic sounding esp for acoustic guitar), acus street 8( best sounding amp but compression on the guitar a bit too strong and the weight a bit hefty), fishman loudbox mini charge (overall best value for money and surprisingly loud and both vocal and guitar channel produce very nice sound), ev everse 8( best for slightly larger places because it really kicks it out. produces a good overall sound whilst not really being bespoke for vocals or acoustic guitar). The Bose s1, in my opinion just doesn't cut it. the mic output really is too low and the overall sound it delivers has more real punch.. it's kind of hifi sounding.. when i go to a oyb gig or a small club, i like to hear it punching from the stage. The S1 is too spacey if you know what i mean.

Im not a Bose hater at all - i have their earphones and a bluetooth speaker but their pa gear i found lacking. i also owned the smallest L1 system but it was too shrill.. it's all about the mids abd Bose, IMHO have not tackled them very well. it's all very subjective but that's my 5 cents..

I've owned the S1 Pro, and I now own the Everse 8. The Bose was okay, but the Everse 8 had it beat hands down. It's nice to have a full range speaker. The Bose lacks the ability to have mid control, and that is a major frequency range in the scope of human hearing. Also, when this guy talked about the Bose being a pound lighter, that does not constitute it being more portable than the Everse 8. It just means it is a pound lighter. That's all.

Man, thank you so much for explaining this in a fashion I can grasp. There are lots of good videos on these speakers, but this checks the boxes for me.

You nailed it with your explanation. I have found that Bose beats EV hands down, except for build quality. I owned both the L1Pro 8 and EV30M. He EV sounded muddy. No amount of EQ could correct it’s short comings.

Many report mic preamp on Bose is weak. Using a small mixer solves the problem but defeats the purpose. EV preamps reported to be strong.

The sound of the bose is insane for live performances. Absolutely astounding.
That being said, it just doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the ev.

Tried both at a music store. Bose took less than 5 minutes to make the Mic. And guitar sound great! Like having a mixing engineer. EV took about 20 minutes to make it sound ok was not happy with the muddy sound. Crancked both speakers up, both sounded just as loud. I own EV speakers they sound amazing with a Mixer. But for easy and simplicity Bose takes the Cake, just plug and play. Loud enough for small backyards and small venues. no more carrying big speakers, mixer and looking for electricity to hook up when its not required. If Im playing in a bigger venue ill use my bigger system and use the Bose pro for a extra monitor without having to plug power to it...

I bought two of the Bose S1 a couple of years ago, but I'm looking to get rid of them now. I like bass-heavy music and they just don't cut it for that purpose. I can see how they would be awesome for a vocalist though.

Good review, and of course it's ridiculous to attempt to judge audio quality via mobile fone 👍

I am selling 2 Bose S1 speakers. Like New. I posted them on Offerup and Craigslist. With battery and charging cable. Fell on hard times. Hate to let them go. I'll be posting this on different videos. From Chicago.

Hi. Which one would you recommend for business in acoustic guitar with vocals?

I thought that you could mic into the EV and run stereo without a wire tether. Can you confirm that I’m wrong?

I would have to disagree regarding the Bose. The Bose has a very specific eq curve. It doesn’t sound like you, it sounds like Bose.

Hello. Nice yo meet you...^^ I can not speak English very well. I really want to ask a question, so I will ask it using a translator. Please understand even if the way I speak is a little strange.
My name is Damian, and I mainly perform acoustic guitar on small and medium-sized outdoor stages in Korea. I need a battery-powered amplifier right now, and I'm debating between EV everse8 and Bose s1 pro plus.
I want the delicate expression of an acoustic guitar to be possible, but also have high output and a clear sound delivered to the audience. Which product is better?

Wait, you need cable to connect two everse 8s together?
No wireless connection?
