I agree completely. I bought an Everse8 to test, set it up to compare against my Yamaha DBR10 and JBL EON One MK2. Brought my friend's S1Pro as well. S1Pro is completely outclassed by the Everse. My friend is now planning on replacing the S1Pros with Everses. However, my DBR10 and JBL were a lot more impressive than the Everse. For less than the price of the Everse, I could get a DBR10, mixer, and a battery pack to run everything. The Everse was impressive, but didn't do anything that I don't already have covered...I sent it back. The EON One MK2 is still the best all-in-one battery powered speaker IMO.

Bought the EV and sold my Bose. The EV makes me embarrassed I ever owned a Bose.

I love the Bose S1 Pro for it’s incredible portability and tonal clarity. Fantastic little speaker for Singing/Songwriters.

You can overcome the mic power issue with a Shure A85F inline booster transformer that plugs into the Bose S1 Pro mic jack and actually will boost the mic signal much higher. I bought it on Amazon after watching a ytube video discussing the lack of mic volume on the S1 and the fix. It works fantastic and in fact I had to get accustomed to not setting the mic volume past the halfway point. Inexpensive, if I can remember rightly about 32 bucks plus tax Canadian last summer. The mic XLR cable simply plugs into one end and the other end is equipped with a regular 1/4 male that plugs into the Bose unit. Very neat, quick and simple. Amazing increase in mic volume.

I had a Bose S1 for a few weeks and I swapped it for the Everse.Best thing I ever did.Much more headroom, with an 8 inch speaker I get a much rounder bass.Plenty of eq options, while the Bose was very lacking and with the application, that is dead easy to use you can completely control it without even get close to the amp.I found very awkard to reach the controls of the Bose, I guess it would be easier if mounted on a stand.

So the MK2 is double the weight and double the price, so I hope it would sound better. Portability is debatable…

EVERSE8 is all around with sound, battery, outdoor, SPL, conveniently use precise tuning with led screen not only see color of led as other very confusing me for Bose and JBL

Nice video man! I'm keen on getting the MK2. And your video is actually a nice tutorial on the controls!

Can you daisy chain miltiple pedals off of one usb port? Or is it too much to handle?

Thank you. A month or so ago I traded in a 4 year old S1Pro for an Everse8 at a Sam Ash in Raleigh. Wow, I am blown away! However, here's an interesting thing: you played some music on the Everse8 on your video and the music sounded kind of pathetic. The same thing happened to me and I thought, hell, what have I done, trading in the S1Pro for this! Then I discovered it is ALL ABOUT THE EQ SETTINGS. Both on the Cellphone or Tablet and the speaker. On my Galaxy S22+ for instance, if I set the EQ on it for classical music and I play pop music, it sounds horrible! And vice versa! It was a learning curve setting the EQ on the Everse8 but doing that I now have excellent fidelity. And the volume from the mic preamps, awesome! Great sounding vocals too. So delighted with the Everse8. Truly a next generation PA speaker.

I also have a JBL Eon One that is over 4 years old. Big, fat, heavy and ugly but I just love the sound! Have to use a mixer though, as the mic preamps are pretty pathetic just like the S1Pro. Really, the Everse8 is entirely a new generation PA speaker and sorry, man, you have not even scratched the surface of that amazing new PA speaker. I did consider an Eon One Mk2 but I already have the original Eon One, and I wanted an easily portable PA speaker to take for parties for karaoke and entertainment. I'm absolutely delighted with the Everse8. And oh, one other unrelated thing: I just bought a Wireless Microphone adapter. I chose the JOYO brand from Amazon. Normally $110, it was on sale for $88. Battery charged, it works for 4-5 hours. Such a delight not being connected by an XLR cable, and the sound is as clear as with a cable. But if you decide to get two, you'll need a short 1 foot XLR cable as they are kind of fat and you cannot plug two of them side by side whether into a PA speaker or a mixer. A short XLR male to female cable solves the problem. But it uses Micro-USB so now I'll have to find a USB-C to Micro-USB cable to charge it from the back of the Everse8. I have two mics, a Shure SM58 and an Audio Technica AE6100 which is far superior.

Final comment: it is ONLY FAIR that you plug in a microphone and test the Mic preamps on these PA speakers rather than just blasting some rock music! Really! Thanks for listening!

I totally agree with the microphone channel on Bose S1 Pro being very weak in terms of volume so thanks for mentioning that. Instrument and aux inputs can get loud enough but mic channel cannot catch up with their volume. I’ve been using my Bose S1 Pro for busking for a while and I’m struggling to get enough volume from my Shure SM58 microphone even though the mic volume is all the way up. There are 2 options to fix this problem: 1) Buying a portable phantom power and mic pre-amp to increase the microphone volume on Bose, but I can’t justify buying and carrying all that extra stuff just to make Bose work right. 2) Selling Bose and buying the EV 8 which makes more sense to me

Hey bro. What about the Mackie Thump Go?!? I use them for wedding ceremonies, cocktail hours or general PA applications and they work very well..

Just picked up a pair of Jbl eon one mk2 myself. They sound crisp! Only thing is I’m sure I have it dialed wrong, seems to clip (red front/rear lights) go on most of the time and I’m not even at 12 o clock on my output mixer (rev7) what are your settings on the Jbl to sound it’s best for djaying? Seems most people use them for acoustic/live bands. Thanks!

Here we are, almost a year later. Has your mind changed, or would you still prefer the Jbl?

Damn... I wanted to buy the EV, but I like the manual adjustment knobs on my Bose S1. I just don't want to have to rely on the one-button adjustments on the fly. When I'm performing, I want INSTANT control over my voice and track balance. Any singers out there who agree??

Had weird charging issues with Bose. Traded off Happy with my Everse, though feedback suppression setting seems to do nothing.

Your videos are awesome! Really enjoyed them and bought an Everse 8--very impressive. What EQ settings would you recommend for streaming music via Bluetooth for outdoor parties to maximize bass and sound quality? Music would mostly be pop, hip-hop and electronic via Spotify. Keep the videos coming!

I have seen a ton of videos about those speakers. The Everse 8 looks great, BUT I need to connect two mics and one guitar. So sometimes I think about the EV 30M and the JBL EON mk2, and any conclusion at all.

Nicely done, and thank you. I was already leaning toward the JBL, but figured I'd do a bit more research before buying, so thanks for doing the research for me. Cheers
