A warning after a bluff collapse in Torrey Pines causes panic that more could come down. No one was injured but video shows the huge chunk crashing down near people.

I see people right at the edge of Sunset Cliffs, Blacks and Torrey Pines.
When it's wet it's soft and unstable.
Even dry nothing is permanent.

I remember about 25 years ago a coworker named Rebecca Kowalchek died in a bluff collapse in Encinitas while watching her husband surf.

When I moved here I was amazed people were allowed to get within 20’ of those cliff bases. They should have signs and clear information, especially for tourists who have no idea how deadly these spaces are.
