If I'm using a vide0 as a background, how do I prevent the mist from affecting it? I just want the mist to affect everything but the background.

Thanks for the great tip! Does your camera have depth of field set-up as well?

Hi, thanks for the great tip of using the mist path.. I actually had that one before.. but how or what did you do to actually create the mist/fog.. Can't find that in your videos..

Thx. Still, a beginner tutorial would profit in having an intro of what mist is. In addition hinting at the possibility to set the range.

NICE! What is the advantage and disadvantage of this method?

Looks like it is way faster to render than volumetrics. When would I use volumetrics then?

I was wondering how to do it without using volumetric fog. Thank you.

This was helpful. And I tried playing with a black fog by using subtract instead of add.

Nothing happens for me when I connect mist to viewer. When I render the image it comes out exactly the same.
