Just me noodling around with the Peavey 6505 amp.

To this day, the 5150/6505 are still my favorite sounding amps. They may not be the cleanest but they have so much character and aggression. They are the gold standard by which high gain amps should be compared against.

I think this is how you should do all of the reviews: playing with songs is cool and all but sometimes I feel like I can't experience the true tone unless it's raw like it is in this.

@mav5150 dude they're the same amps. The difference between them is not worth mentioning. Sure they used other stock tubes but I wouldn't be bothered by that. Sound exactly the same to me.

This is literally my perfect tone <3 Massive thick mids while the bottom end stays tight as fuck and has a massive attack to it constantly... *drools***

@DemmelitionMan95 depends if you really need the clean channel or not. The 6505 is more priceworthy I think.

@mav5150 No I haven't but you just gave me an idea. I could always solo one of the tracks in all other amp tests I've did and make a soloed video.

I love my Maxon OD808, I pretty much just use it as a boost, drive set to 0, turn the balance all the way up, then back it off a bit and it just tightens up anything I play it with. It acctually KILLS on my Orange dark terror, makes that amp tight and crazy sounding for palm muting.

Took me a long time to save up, but it was absolutely worth it. The pricetags are steep as hell, but surprisingly enough, I've never had anyone complain about the price after hearing my amp in person. Before, yes, but never after.
People on the internet are so fast to jump on Diezel over their pricetags, but almost none of them have ever heard one in real life.
Once you have, you know why they cost what they do.

actually the 6505 really delivers a great sound at a bedrom - I have it on 1 and it sounds great!

@fraser149 That's what I meant -- the 5150 is the same as the 6505. The 5150 II is the same as the 6505+. The 5150/6505 has a different preamp voicing and one less preamp tube. The 5150II/6505+ has an improved clean channel (which makes use of the extra preamp tube) and it has basically a modified version of the original's lead preamp to achieve more dynamic range and clarity at similar gain levels. Also, the 5150II/6505+ has a somewhat adjustable bias stock, where the original is fixed.

One of the best tones i've heard from you. I like how it has the goodness of the 5150 (or 6505 or whatever) but not the bad features (i mean the ones i dislike usually : fizzy tone, fuzzy lows/mids, polished tone).

Don't judge by Olas' videos. I bet he could make an MS-2 sound the same as a Diezel Herbert.
I DID try plugging a jvm410 into my 1960's lead cab. The crunch sound was great, the overdrive was ok, but underwhelming. Further, I couldn't get a nice CLEAN sound out of it. It always produces the Marshall-colored sound, awful if you're going for an acoustic type of sound. And all channels sounded horrible with Seymour Duncans.
Long story short: got an Invader, can't complain about anything.

The tone certainly doesn't sound as refined as something like a marshall....and i love it.
